Sonic Couch Cleaning Services
Stain & Spot Removal
We treat individual spots and stains on couches, upholstery and carpet, matching the treatment to the type of stain and the fabric involved.
Sonic Couch Cleaning Services provides stain & spot removal across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, with the method matched to your fabric rather than a single approach applied to everything.
Fabrics we clean
We check the manufacturer's care label before choosing a method — not every fabric can be cleaned the same way.

Linen
A natural fibre that's sensitive to moisture — we use a lower-moisture approach to avoid water marking or browning.

Cotton
Handles water-based cleaning well, though care is taken to avoid oversaturating the fabric.

Velvet
A pile fabric that needs careful grooming during and after cleaning to keep its texture and direction.

Microfibre
A synthetic fabric that generally handles cleaning well and dries quickly.

Wool
Needs a wool-safe approach — no high heat or heavy agitation.
Blends
Mixed-fibre fabrics are assessed as a whole — the care label guides the method, not just one fibre in the mix.
Care labels are usually marked W (water-based cleaner), S (solvent cleaner), WS (either), or X (vacuum or light brushing only). We check this during inspection so we don't apply a method that isn't suited to your fabric.
Stains we treat
Each stain is treated on its own merits — the fabric and how long it's been there both affect the approach.
Coffee and tea
Water-based stains that respond best when treated before they dry in — older marks may need more than one pass.
Wine
Red wine can leave a lasting mark if left untreated — we treat it as soon as we start, working from the outside in.
Soft drink and juice
Sugary spills that can attract more dirt over time if not treated properly.
Food and grease
Oil-based marks that need a different approach to water-based stains — plain water alone won't shift them.

Makeup
Foundation, mascara and lipstick marks, usually a mix of oils and pigment.
Body oils and sweat
Builds up gradually on headrests and armrests from everyday use.

Pet accidents
Urine, vomit or faeces — treated with an enzymatic cleaner suited to organic residue.
Water marks
Ring-shaped marks left behind when moisture dries unevenly on the fabric.
Blood
Treated with cold water only — heat can set the protein in and make the mark permanent.
Ink and pen
Pigment-based marks that need a solvent approach rather than water.

Mud and dirt
Usually easier once fully dried — vacuumed first, then treated if a mark remains.
Methods we use
We'll confirm which method suits your item — these aren't interchangeable across every fabric.
Spot Treatment
Targeted work on a specific mark, usually followed by cleaning the surrounding area so it blends in.
Hot-Water Extraction
A cleaning solution and hot water are applied, then extracted back out along with the loosened soil.
Low-Moisture Cleaning
Less liquid is used, with controlled extraction and faster drying — considered for moisture-sensitive fabrics.
Please note: stain removal results are not guaranteed. What comes out depends on the fabric type, how old the stain is, its condition, and any prior treatment or damage. We'll give you an honest assessment during inspection before any work starts.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about stain & spot removal.
Will the stain come out completely?
We can't promise a specific result. What comes out depends on the fabric, how old the stain is, its condition, and any prior treatment. We'll give you an honest assessment before starting.
How do you decide which cleaning method to use?
We inspect the fabric and check the manufacturer's care code (W, S, WS or X) where one exists, then choose a method suited to that fabric — hot-water extraction, steam cleaning, low-moisture cleaning or a solvent-based approach.
Is steam cleaning the same as hot-water extraction?
Not exactly. Steam cleaning uses steam vapour, while hot-water extraction applies a solution and water then extracts it back out with the soil. Both are used across our services depending on the fabric.
Do you clean leather?
Yes. Leather is cleaned and, where suitable, conditioned using products matched to the leather finish rather than fabric cleaning products.
